Success Stories from Past Clients
"Kim Morrison’s ability to relate to young people and deliver skills to today’s student-athletes helps in all aspects of our athletes’ lives - mental health, general well-being, and performance. I attribute a huge part of our team’s ability to get to the Elite 8 for the first time in 5 years to Kim. As our mindfulness coach, she would meet with the team prior to all competitions and help them find peace, perspective, and a relaxed state of mind."
Ange Bradley – Head Field Hockey Coach Syracuse University 2007-2022
"The sessions led by Kim Morrison have helped me prepare for important field hockey games. Mindfulness helps me to relax and to think about the small things in life that make me a strong person. Thank you, Kim, for all the sessions!"
Eefke van den Nieuwenhof – ACC Player of the Year '23
"Before starting the course, I was nervous about my ability to meditate. I'm generally a fidgety person and often get uncomfortable if I stay in one position for a long period of time. I am astounded by my ability to sit still. Also, I am learning that I like myself a lot more when I am mindful. I believe the practice has the potential to help me evolve into a kinder, better person. Conversely, I am learning that I can be an unpleasant, dismissive, immature, and a difficult person when I allow myself to be distracted and stressed. Kim has helped me see that mindfulness - something I once viewed as a legitimate pursuit for the Dalai Lamas of the world, but more like a precious, esoteric luxury for the Jennifer Anistons of the world - is a practice that is appropriate for EVERYONE. Kim has made it super accessible and relevant to daily life. Last night's session about communication was incredibly helpful. I came home and told ---- about it. I may or may not have used the words, 'I think this class could be life-changing for me."
A. Nelson, Mid-Course Review
"Working with Kim and learning her mindfulness techniques changed the way I was able to approach my team, coaches, and sport while playing college athletics. As a high achieving athlete – and person – performance on the field created an unmanageable amount of stress in my life – ranging from high pressure moments in important games to even worrying about making it to practice on time. While competing in college athletics during the COVID-19 Pandemic, increased rules and regulations led to an entire year of both physical and mental stress. Kim’s approach changed my mindset on the field and offered freedom from the stress of rules and regulations and of the unknown. My love for sport, my coaches, and my teammates grew as I was able to keep my focus on the present and see the gift in sport. Kim’s mentorship and mindfulness techniques led our team to the Elite Eight for the first time in 5 years and allowed me to love the game again. Three years following college athletics, I am using those lessons learned as I walk through new phases of life, start a new job, and coach young athletes. I wish I had been working with Kim earlier on in my college career, but I am so grateful for how it shaped the end of my career and prepared me to approach life."

"I was first introduced to mindfulness while I was a student-athlete at Syracuse University, and it later re-surfaced as one of my main strategies I used to pass a big exam to enter my career. For me, mindfulness has helped me stay in the moment, be confident, stay composed, and overcome obstacles I once convinced myself I'd never get past. Fear, failure, and doubt are a few of the many obstacles mindfulness has, and will continue to, allow me to overcome.
Being a student-athlete can be overwhelming. There’s pressure from every direction. With the guidance of Kim Morrison, I was able to develop and implement mindfulness strategies to be present, confident, and composed in key moments throughout the end of my athletic career. That same year, we were able to reach the Elite 8-- a position our program had not been in for many years.
Flash forward two years and I am facing obstacles with an exam I needed to pass to start my career. After making mindfulness sessions with Kim a priority again, I was able to develop different strategies than I had applied to my athletic performance. I cannot help but attribute some percentage of my successes in these two situations to mindfulness, and to Kim.
She doesn’t only give you the strategies, she offers the science behind our experiences with our thoughts, provides research and reliable reasoning as to why the strategies could work, and most importantly meets her clients with respect, honesty, and compassion. I know there’s still a lot to learn, but I find myself using mindfulness in so many aspects of my life now, and for that I will be forever be grateful."
